EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR SERVICES
In recognition that some children need educational services in excess of the 180 days provided during the traditional school year, the Tannehill Public Schools has developed an extended school year program in order to provide students with a free, appropriate, public education. Whether a student is entitled to extended year services will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Once a student is deemed to require additional educational services, the student’s IEP team will determine what areas of the curriculum will be included in each individual student's extended school year program. This program and its attendant procedures do not supersede or preempt the prerogative of the individualized education planning team. The intent is to assure thorough review and careful consideration of the individual needs of our student population who will benefit from extended school year services.
